I LOVE GFWC

We had an opening thought at a recent meeting that was just great.  It was a wonderful list of  “Why I Love GFWC.”

I’d like to start off our list with this thought:

I LOVE GFWC because I just won the Share the Pot at a state wide fundraiser!

Yipeeeeeeee!  I won over $500!

I also love GFWC because we support really important causes, like Prevent Child Abuse.  We had over 200 people at the Blue Ribbon Fashion Show today.  Lots of money was raised, and lots of happy people left with great raffle and silent auction treasures.

Isn’t it fun to come together on a dreary, cold, rainy day and raise a LOT of money?

Can you help me with this list?  WHY DO YOU LOVE GFWC?

I love the GFWC because it encourages us to make a real difference in our communities. This spirit of volunteerism is indespensible to any great community.

I love GFWC because it encourages us to take care of each other. We play with each other, we watch out for the health of each other, we talk to each other. We need each other. It’s FELLOWSHIP!

I love GFWC because it has helped me be a better person by learning skills in leadership, mentoring, and public speaking, it has made me more aware of current issues that concern us as a community and world, it has allowed me to meet some wonderful people in the course of volunteering and also, most importantly those GFWC Friends!

I love GFWC for the opportunities, i have been given. For the fact that me as an idealist can say something and it can become a project. For the amazing ladies I have learned from.

I also love GFWC for the fabulous home made desserts at every meeting and the pot lucks we have often. Not only is the food great, so are the recipe ideas.
