Last Wednesday, second graders poured out of buses full of energy and excitement. They walked quickly into the gym in single file lines, barely containing their enthusiasm. I know we have all been hit hard these last 6 months and even before.  But I believe that change is just around the corner.  It will not be coming from a Democrat or Republican, nor President Obama nor US Senator or Congressman.  It is coming from God.  It is Spring – showing us that [...]

This year the breakfast was held at the local Oldtimer’s Bunkhouse that is a rustic rock building that speaks volumes about cowboy heritage.

Programs Produce

  by karen on 03/08/09

Our club membership is constantly growing in spite of the advanced age of many of our members. We really feel that having quality programs at the meetings is a big part of why ladies want to join with us. We have a good mix of educational and entertaining programs, usually giving the performer an hour after the business portion of the meeting. Three of our club members recently joined a book club that another member has been attending.  The book for March to read is “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls.  I was having a hard time reading the book.  It is a memoir concerning her childhood and the fact that her parents were not very responsible.  [...]

Generations of Caring

  by christy on 03/02/09

One of the most special things to me about the Bismarck Women’s Club are meeting the generations of women that have served our community. On Valentine’s Day, my mother-in-law Murna and I helped deliver cookies to the local shut-ins and elderly. This was a great way for someone like me, new to the club and [...]
