by patty on 04/27/09We had our state convention for Georgia April 17-19 in Augusta. It was a fabulous convention!!!! Our 1st and 10th district really did an outstanding job hosting. Attendance was a little off – I am hoping next year we can see 500 in attendance. This year only saw 264. I am hoping it was because [...]

by rosemary on 04/21/09The Woman’s Club clubhouse and my home are in a very low income neighborhood. I planted daffodils in a bleak spot at the base of the side steps to the clubhouse. A local elderly woman who walks her dog that way everyday stopped to chat as I planted them last November.

by rosemary on 04/16/09It is almost time for Earth Day, April 22. April showers and snow and hail have delayed me but there is so much to do weather or not I want to. I betch you think …why doesn’t that mother punish him? Why doesn’t she spank him or correct him? …What if I told you this child was autistic?

by callie on 04/01/09As a parent I never ceased to be amazed by the fact that the very ones we are supposed to be teaching are the ones that are in fact teaching us. For spring break this year, my two boys, ages 6 and 4, one set of grandparents, and my husband and I all made the two and half-hour trek to Glen Rose, Texas, which is home to Dinosaur World and the infamous dinosaur footprints at Dinosaur Valley State Park. These dinosaur footprints were instrumental in showing paleontologists how dinosaurs walked in prehistoric times. Previous to this discovery in the 1930s, scientists thought dinosaurs walked like alligators.

“Not everybody can be famous but everybody can be great because greatness is determined by service. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don’t have to know [...]
