by patty on 09/16/09Our district is celebrating it’s 100th Anniversary. I am on the Centennial committee and have been gathering pictures and memorabilia to have a presentation at the Fall district meeting. by patty on 08/05/09I knew August would be busy with club meetings starting back up. I just did not know how busy. My office at work looks like a staging area.
1) Pile of school supplies folks have donated that our club is collecting.
2) Non-perishable food items for us to stock the pantry for Ronald McDonald house.
3) [...]
Club projects still going through summer

by patty on 06/02/09This blog is dedicated to Mrs. Gayle, who was a founding Cobb WC member and a member of the Town & Country Juniors. She lost her battle with cancer the same weekend of the GaFWC State Convention. At her 65th birthday party she was given a couple of tiaras, which she just absolutlely loved. At [...]

by patty on 04/27/09We had our state convention for Georgia April 17-19 in Augusta. It was a fabulous convention!!!! Our 1st and 10th district really did an outstanding job hosting. Attendance was a little off – I am hoping next year we can see 500 in attendance. This year only saw 264. I am hoping it was because [...]

by patty on 03/24/09My mother and I were on the way to see her sister, when we came up with these. It was a way of taking our mind off the fact her sister was dying – but I hope you will like these as much we laughed about them and someone can add to my list. I [...]

by patty on 03/19/09It is beautiful here in Georgia. Spring is BUSTING out all over. BUT so are my allergies!!! Yesterday, I did nothing but sneeze and wipe my eyes. I ran out of my allergy medication (BAD TIMING!). But my allergies will not deter me from enjoying this fabulous time of year. I have my Martina McBride and Jimmy [...]

The Turn is Right Around the Corner
by patty on 03/09/09I know we have all been hit hard these last 6 months and even before. But I believe that change is just around the corner. It will not be coming from a Democrat or Republican, nor President Obama nor US Senator or Congressman. It is coming from God. It is Spring – showing us that [...]

by patty on 02/24/092008 was a crazy year for me. Besides God’s grace, the love of my family and friends, what saved my sanity was crafting. It helps me get rid of the stress and helps me to use the other side of my brain after a long day at work.
I used to have not a creative bone [...]

by patty on 01/20/09Happy 2009!!! January is National Mentoring Month. The person that I believe made the most difference in my life and is my mentor is my Mom. She was a member of the Smyrna Federated Woman’s Club when I was young and I can remember being right by her side as she participated in club projects. The club was a very small group, but it held debates for local elections, manned booths for a petition drive to have early weather warning sirens installed in our county, held student art competitions and so many more projects. Mom showed me you can make a difference in your community everyday by your actions.
